The Rise of the Wash Toilet

Toilets with integrated wash facilities have increased in popularity in the UK in recent years. Already a firm favourite across many countries it was mostly used here in bathrooms designed with accessibility in mind. Opinions are changing however and these wash WCs are now favoured because of their hygienic qualities compared to standard toilets. As the demand for these has soared the designs for these WC’s have become much more style focussed with many of our suppliers bringing out impressive new models.

Here at John Nicholls Banbury Showroom we have a couple of different options on display and we can get many more in through our excellent supplier relationships. If you have a particular style in mind and specific requirements we can help find a Wash WC to suit your bathroom and budget needs.

Our most recent display is by Laufen. The Riva WC its ground-breaking in terms of look and design. We’re delighted to have this as a working WC in our ladies toilet at the Banbury Showroom, and it has generated a lot of interest since we have had it installed!

The thin seat and integrated mechanism makes the Riva one of the most subtle wash WCs on the market. Its compact design makes it appear as a normal toilet yet has a multifunction shower facility that can either be controlled on the side of the seat or for more detailed settings a separate remote control. The shower jet is strong yet gentle and has multifunction settings. It is extremely hygienic with its self-cleaning facility and it is certified with low energy consumption.

For you to appreciate its design and quality we also have the Geberit Aqua clean 8000 on display. Geberit have a variety of different washdown WC’S to choose from depending on what your needs and specifications are there is a model to suit.  Similar to the Riva above, it combines the use of the WC and bidet with additional functions to the shower settings such as a message function, odour extraction and a softer lady wash for ensuring the personal hygiene for women.

Ranges from our brochures include the popular Senso wash from Duravit which offers a combination of options. Instead of having the wash WC wall hung you can either have it to the floor with the cistern hidden or you can have it as a close coupled WC space to hide the cistern. With the mechanism being fitted in the seat rather than the pan this stylish design delivers a slim modern look with the separate remote offering different user profiles depending on your preference. Also similar in features but with a slightly different design is the Vi Clean from Villeroy & Boch. We don’t have either on display but we can provide all the technical information you need to ensure you choose the right model for your bathroom.

Lastly, It’s important to mention the soon to launch Crosswater product, the Axent Switzerland. Similar to all the features above also including message functions, warm air functions and heated seats.
